by Rachel Sittig
First
told in the gospel of Mathew two days before Jesus was to die
He was eating at
the house of Simon the leper
A woman came with a costly bottle of ointment and poured it over his head
Jesus told
them she had done a good work for me
His
disciples thought that the ointment could have been sold for silver
And the silver given to the poor
Jesus said you will
always have the poor, but you will not always have me.
Thus wherever the gospel is
preached in world
You are to tell the story of woman who poured ointment over Jesus' head
Because she was willing to
give her best to The Lord
Amen
