Oh Jesus, our savior, our light
Your heart is always filled with joy
Even amid intense suffering.
Oh, Jesus, you were born
To teach us to be better people,

But also to suffer in our place.
For you are the lamb who is called

You are the greatest teacher in all the world
For your teachings deal with our inner being,
But also teach us how to treat all men,

Thank you for a wonderful prayer for the new year. I pray it with you and for us both. I like the way you used different forms of the word "teach" throughout the poem. I was amazed at the intricacy of your embroidery and loved its message. How did you ever do it so perfectly? The tiny hearts over the word "heart" were a great idea. I like that you used the two colors together there, but again I was amazed at how difficult the stitching must have been.
ReplyDeleteNoticed that the word "God" is the only one in the embroidery that is all one color. Very appropriate. Ruth Ann Miller said to tell you that she thought every part of your poem is good and that she enjoyed reading it. I described the art to her also. Your work is a blessing.
