As I looked carefully
Upon the crucifix
I saw our savior
Sad, with
tears in
his eyes
For the sins of man are many
Like thorns all around him
But we can be like roses
to him
By understanding his pain
And praying for the conversion of sinners
To do this we must realize that each of us
Except for the blessed Virgin Mary
Has a part to play in his pain
Even the best of us has sins
We are all in need
Of the sacrament of confession
Amen
Very nicely made poem. I liked all the concrete images: crucifix, thorns, roses. You have captured most all of Christianity in those few touching lines. Thank You, Rachel.
ReplyDeleteThis is beautiful. It's like Michelangelo's Pieta in poem form :)
