Veronica's Veil

Oh St. Veronica, who had compassion on the Lord

When you saw him dying for our sins

You took off your veil and wiped his face

Wiping the blood and spit off of his face

You did not care what others thought of your actions

You only cared what God thought of your actions in that moment

The Finding of Jesus in the Temple in Jerusalem

Oh Mary and Joseph who looked for your child Jesus 

Among family and friends

Not finding him you returned to Jerusalem to look for him

Not finding him in any people's house in Jerusalem

You looked for him a third day and

Found him sitting among theologians in the Temple

Discussing the teachings of the Old Testament

When asked what he was doing for the last three days,

He said, "don't you know I must be about my Father's business"

The Great Commission

Oh Jesus, who gave us the great commission

Who told us to preach the gospel in every nation

To teach all things which he taught us

And to make disciples of every nation

Baptising them in the name of the Father, Son, and Holy Spirit

He told us he is with us always until the end of the age

Amen

The Name of Jesus Represents the Teachings of Jesus

When we pray to Jesus, not according to teachings 

Be careful, because he may not answer them.

James says, "you have not, because you ask not

And even if you do ask, you ask for the wrong reasons"

If we truly want to glorify God the Father in prayer

Pray with the teachings of Christ in mind

Amen 

A Meditation on the Word of God: The Rosary

The rosary is the greatest meditation on the gospel of Christ

King David said in the psalms, 

"Blessed is he who meditates on the word of God, day and night. 

He shall be like a tree planted by rivers of living water."

Because it is a meditation on the gospel of Christ,

It is the greatest prayer ever made.

In the book of Exodus, Miriam takes a tambourine and 

Sings praise to the Lord for delivering the children of Israel from Egypt.

In the New Testament times, the rosary is the psalm of our Lady 

Which we sing to the Blessed Trinity 

Who delivered us from sin and death

Blessed is he who prays the rosary.

The Way to Calvary

Oh Jesus, you carried the cross on the way to Calvary

That you might teach us to do the same in our day-to-day walk

But the cross is significant for another reason,

Because with the cross you forgave our sins.

And redeemed us to God.

Of course not.

The Coronation of the Blessed Virgin

Oh God you loved your mother dearly

You had prepared her a crown of pure gold

To wear for all eternity

To serve as the Queen of Heaven

And as an inspiration to our world

Because she followed the path that God laid out for her

And she was used mightily by God 

To give us the Son and to raise him

So this is the reason she has her reward in Heaven

Greater than all the saints and angels

Because she gave us God's Son 

And was a good mother to him.

Jesus' Proclamation of the Kingdom of Truth

Oh Jesus who proclaimed the Kingdom of God 

To the people of every town and village in Galilee.

You proclaimed it with parables and miracles of healing.

You told parables about the rich man and Lazareth, 

The prodigal son, lost sheep, lost coins, and the good Samaritan.

You healed both children and adults, rich and poor, men and women.

You healed people with both physical and mental illnesses.

The disciples you had chosen were special in many ways, 

For example, they served and helped others 

And followed you before you proved you were God.

Remembrance of the Blessed Virgin

We repeat the words of the angel Gabriel, spoken to the virgin Mary

Then we recall what her cousin Elizabeth had spoken to her through the Holy Spirit

then we honor the name of her Son

then we ask for her intercession, because she is Queen of Heaven

So powerful she can pray for all of us.

Both now and at the hour of our death.

The Components of the Our Father

You glorified the name of God by calling him by his true name, which is Father.

You glorified his true home which is Heaven.

He also lives in the hearts and minds of believers.

You asked for his kingdom to come 

Which is the good news to be preached and the poor to be taken care of.

Then you asked for his will to be done 

Which means we as humans will fulfill his desires for our life 

And do what pleases him

Then when all that is asked for, you asked for your needs,
Remember needs not wants, to be fulfilled.

Then you prayed for God to forgive our sins no matter what we have done.

And that we forgive those who sin against us, no matter what they have done.

Then you asked God to deliver us from evil, no matter how bad the evil is.

For thine is the kingdom and the power 

Which is the power to do good and avoid evil
And to live in situations in which God wants you to live holy in.

And the glory for ever and ever which means God's glory is everlasting.

The Wedding Feast of Cana

Oh Jesus who performed your first miracle at the wedding feast of Cana,

Turning water into wine.

What a joyous day that must have been for you and your mother.

But it was also a sad day, knowing your paths would soon split.

The waiter told your mother that they had run out of wine.

You asked your mother whether she was sure she knew what she was doing,

but Mary trusted in God's plan and sent her son on the way to the cross.

This would be the beginning of his three year journey.

For in the small fishing village of Cana he revealed his glory.

The Baptism of Jesus

John the Baptist was the greatest of all prophets.

He preached the baptism of repentance for the forgiveness of sin.

One day Jesus, his younger cousin, came down to the river and asked for baptism.

But John wanted to be baptized by Jesus, instead.

Jesus told John, as an example to all men, that he should be baptized.

Jesus was baptized. He came up out of the water, and 

God the Father spoke from heaven and said, 

"This is my beloved son in whom I am well pleased".

And the holy spirit in the form of a dove came to rest on Jesus' shoulder.

The Presentation of Jesus in the Temple

Oh sweet Mary and Joseph 

Who presented your son Jesus in the temple

There was a man named Simeon in the Temple.

He was praying for the coming of the Messiah

When he saw Jesus, he knew that his prayers had been answered

And blessed Jesus, and said, 

"Oh God let thy servant depart in peace according to thy word 

For my eyes have seen thy salvation, 

The glory of Israel, 

And a light unto the gentiles".

There was also a prophetess named, Anna.

Who told about the Savior to all who wanted to see him.

She was widow and she spent her days in prayer and fasting.

Like Simeon, all her prayers were answered when Jesus appeared.

The Nativity

Oh God, who came to the world in human form

That you might love mankind and forgive their sins

Who was born in a manger in Bethlehem

Oh Jesus, Son of God and son of the most Blessed Virgin

Thy birth was announced by a star

At thy birth you were praised by the angels in Heaven

Seen by shepherds and wise men

Those shepherds told the news 

That the savior of the world was born for mankind.

Amen

The Visitation

Oh St. Mary who visited her cousin Elizabeth

You loved her dearly and prayed with her daily

You helped St. Elizabeth around the house, 

With cooking, cleaning, sewing, 

And all the tasks of a Godly wife.

Oh sweet mother Mary 

When you heard Elizabeth's greeting, 

You praised God Almighty.

The Annunciation

Oh God, who gave through the angel Gabriel

The glad tidings of the Son most holy, 

Most pure, and most compassionate to the Virgin Mary.

So that the whole world might know 

And believe that he is God and Man.

So that the whole world may get to know God 

Through the intercession of our Lady.

The Five Mysteries of Joy

There are five mysteries of the Rosary

Five mysteries of Joy.

They are the annunciation of Gabriel

to the Blessed Virgin.

The visit of Mother Mary to her cousin Elizabeth.

When she visited Elizabeth, she cared for her and they prayed daily.

The nativity of our Lord Jesus. 

Mary gave birth without pain, wrapped him, and the Angel's rejoiced.

The presentation of Jesus Christ in the temple in Jerusalem after his birth.

Mary and Joseph offered two turtle doves as a gift to redeem their son as commanded by the Torah.

Mary and Joseph find Jesus in the Temple sitting with theologians discussing the Torah.

These mysteries of joy show us the birth of our Messiah for in all things.

We see that these mysteries are a joy within themselves. 

For those who are truly joyful have Jesus Christ within their hearts.

There are five mysteries of the Rosary,

Five mysteries of light.

They are the baptism of Jesus by John the Baptist,

The proclamation of Jesus,

The transfiguration of Jesus,

The wedding feast at Canna,

The institution of the Eucharist.

These mysteries of light

Show us the complete ministry of Jesus.

His care for souls,

His love for the Universe

Through the mysteries of light

We see his miracles and healings

For there is healing in the mysteries of light.
